Modular Stage Management Console: Next Generation Technology for Stage and Backstage Management

A User-Friendly and Innovative Solution for Performance Halls

This modular stage management console, designed by Ozan Uzel and Georgios Chalas, revolutionizes the way stage and backstage management systems are controlled. With its practical and lightweight design, touch-screen monitors, and versatile software, this console offers a user-friendly and innovative solution for all types of performance halls.

Traditional all-in-one consoles have limitations when it comes to flexibility and mobility. However, the Modular Stage Management Console (SMC) breaks free from these constraints. Its main frame, angular joints, supporter leg, monitor, connector box, rack, and cover apparatus, along with other accessories, allow users to create different combinations according to their specific needs. Whether it's controlling sound, lighting, or timing, the SMC provides a comprehensive solution.

One of the standout features of the SMC is its use of software that can be combined with all automated stage systems. This integration ensures seamless control and coordination of various elements during a performance. The console's industrial touchscreen PC and rack system for a variety of connectors, hardware, and software systems make it a versatile tool for stage managers.

Measuring 750 mm x 950 mm x 1700 mm, the whole product dimensions, and 540 mm x 95 mm x 350 mm for a single module, the SMC is designed to be practical and space-saving. Its modular nature allows for easy expansion and customization, making it adaptable to different performance requirements.

The development of the SMC began in March 2016 in Istanbul, with the first prototype completed in July of the same year. The design team, led by Ozan Uzel and Georgios Chalas, conducted extensive research to ensure the console's efficiency and aesthetic appeal. By studying the shortcomings of existing products and incorporating the latest technology, they created a console that meets the needs of modern stage management.

Despite the challenges faced during the design process, such as the complexity of coding stage automation systems, the team successfully overcame these obstacles. The result is a console that not only enhances the efficiency of stage and backstage management but also adds a touch of elegance and sophistication to any performance hall.

The Modular Stage Management Console has received recognition for its outstanding design. In 2018, it was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in the Digital and Electronic Device Design category. This prestigious accolade is a testament to the console's practicality, innovation, and ability to meet professional and industrial requirements.
